Welcome to Our Community of Care We provide a full spectrum of care within the Benedictine Health Center - a community that has grown up around the Benedictine tradition of quality and compassion. Since being founded by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in 1980, we have provided Long Term Care, Adult Day Services, Rehabilitation and Early Childhood/Preschool programs to meet the needs of area families. When Westwood was added in 2000, we extended our ministry of care into retirement housing on the beautiful, 180-acre wooded campus shared with the Monastery and the College of St. Scholastica. Over the years, our care centers and apartments have developed a household atmosphere - albeit a large household with over 400 employees and volunteers serving the needs of 300 guests between the ages of six weeks and 100+ years. This extraordinary pairing of young and old not only fosters meaningful relationships but also is..
An Intergenerational Continuum of Care We have learned a great deal from the seniors and families we've served over the years. They trusted in us and in our mission of offering a continuum of services that promote independence, dignity and choice. Today, we provide different levels of care based on our guests' needs and individual preferences - from independent retirement housing and assisted living options to weekday respite services and round-the-clock nursing care. Residents can move from one setting to another based on a change in their health status without ever having to leave our hilltop community. This continuum of care is unique to the Benedictine Health Center, the only campus of its kind in northern Minnesota. |
