Welcome to our website! Hi, my name is Tyler Hoemberg and I serve as Administrator/CEO of Benedictine Living Community of Ada. I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management from Concordia College-Moorhead in 2012 and am currently licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in the state of Minnesota. Under my license, I oversee the functions of Benedictine Living Community of Ada and the services we provide. My most imperative duties are to bring our Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Justice, and Respect to life at Benedictine Living Community of Ada and to develop our vision and strategic plan in response to the needs of our community.

I moved to Ada from Staples in November 2012. I enjoy the small town feel the community provides and the growth it is experiencing. My favorite hobbies outside of work include sporting activities, ice fishing, hunting of all kinds, and being at the lakes during the summer months. Welcome to Benedictine Living Community of Ada!

My name is Cindy Scherfenberg and I am the Director of Nursing here at Benedictine Living Community of Ada. I am responsible for leading, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, analyzing and evaluating the nursing services of Benedictine Living Community of Ada. I also supervise all nursing staff to ensure that our nursing services are the best possible. I have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Moorhead State. I have worked at Benedictine Living Community of Ada for 18 years. I started in the clinic while attended nursing school and then moved into the hospital setting as a nurse. In 2001, I started working in the Care Community as a RN doing assessments and eventually learning to complete the MDS. I moved into the role of Director of Nursing in April of 2006. I am married and have 3 daughters; Elle, Brooke and Lacey. While not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the lake and taking vacations with my family. I truly enjoy the residents and the staff at Benedictine Living Community of Ada. The residents are just like my own family because of the time we spend caring for them. Benedictine Living Community of Ada also has wonderful staff. If I had a loved one that needed long term care this is where I would bring them. The staff are compassionate and caring. They try their best every day to make Benedictine Living Community of Ada home. It is a great place to work.

My name is Rachel Brandt, Wellness Director. I am blessed to be a part of the lives of our residents and tenants at Benedictine Living Community of Ada. As Wellness Director, I plan, implement, and supervise leisure activities that take place daily at Benedictine Care Community and Mission Court. I work closely with nursing staff to develop care for residents, meeting the cognitive, physical, recreational, social, and spiritual needs of our elders. Additionally, my duties entail directing our facility wellness exercise program, working directly with Nursing Rehabilitation. Another aspect of my position includes coordinating and maintaining our volunteer program. This involves recruitment and training of volunteer staff to serve our residents and assist facility-wide. We care deeply for our volunteers and recognize their importance in the daily lives of our residents and clients. Please consider becoming a member of our volunteer family, whether you are an individual, family, local business or service group. Each person has been brought to us with a God-given purpose. The staff at Benedictine Living Community of Ada is caring, talented, and wonderful to work with. We are thankful to expand our spiritual offerings and relationships with local churches and community members. The recent addition of our Chapel is now home to many services, including Afternoon Prayer, Devotions with staff, local parishes, and Ministerial-led church services.

My family lives and farms east of Ada, where my husband and I raise our children, Hannah and Evan. Born and raised in Chisholm, Minnesota, I lived in New York City prior to moving to Ada, where I worked as a children’s clothing wardrobe consultant and performer. In my spare time, I enjoy teaching dance and performance, serving and volunteering within our community, dominoes, singing, traveling, and writing. Our facility continues to grow and I am thankful each day to be a part of Benedictine Living Community of Ada.

My name is Christina Jacobson and I’m the Business Office Manager for Benedictine Living Community of Ada. As the Business Office Manager I’m responsible for many different items: I’m head of human resources, responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, timekeeping, payroll, billing, resident trust accounting and various other business office functions. As an employee of Benedictine Living Community of Ada, I have been here since 2006 and absolutely love the people. Everyone from my coworkers to the family members of those living here are wonderful to be around. Also, the building itself is beautiful! I love that the facility seeks growth opportunities and advancements in modern technology. Being a smaller, rural facility, these items put us above the rest and show our ambition to be the best we can be.

I grew up in Halstad, MN and didn't move too far from home. I am married and together we have two sons, Joe and Calvin, who keep us VERY busy! In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors; whether its 85 degrees or 10 below. Traveling is another one of my favorite things to do, be it a road trip to Yellowstone or a flight to New York City. Traveling to various baseball stadiums and finding the best of the best places to eat make for a great vacation. Outside of traveling and being outdoors, you will find me with my favorite people, my family and friends.

My name is Wendy Bennefeld, Social Worker.  I have been employed with Benedictine Living Community of Ada for five years. I currently reside in rural Gary, MN with my husband and daughter. I was originally employed as the Health Unit Coordinator and after attending Minnesota State University in Moorhead I have moved into the social service area at Benedictine Living Community of Ada. I recently completed a Bachelors Degree in SW and Gerontology which allows me to specialize in the unique needs and challenges that face the geriatric population. Entering a Skilled Nursing Facility or Assisted Living Facility can be a difficult decision for individuals and their families. I strive to ease that anxiety and help individuals and families find comfort in their decision to allow Benedictine Living Community of Ada to provide the services needed while maintaining their dignity and independence. Attending to the psycho-social wellbeing of each resident through visits, formal assessments and getting to personally know each resident is the most important role I have at Benedictine Living Community of Ada. My favorite thing about Benedictine Living Community of Ada is being a part of a Catholic organization that recognizes and attends to the individual needs of each person who chooses to reside here. By catering to the unique needs and desires of each resident we provide more than a living space, we provide a home.
