Do you allow pets?

Yes, dogs, cats, birds and fish are allowed, for a nominal pet fee.

 

Is there on-site parking?

Yes, we have reserved residential parking. We also have garages for an additional monthly fee to accomodate our residents.

 

I enjoy gardening, can I garden at Living Community of St. Joseph?

Yes! We have a large gardening area for residents in raised beds next to our patios. In addition, you may have a garden in our large green space by the garages.

 

What safety and security features do you have?

While St. Joseph is considered a safe, family-oriented area, all of our residents have access to our wireless security response alert. We also have a secure entrance and round-the-clock on-campus staff, which is more for the peace of mind of our residents than due to any perceived need.

 

What if there is a fire?

We do monthly fire drills to ensure our staff and residents know how to respond in case of a fire. We have two-hour fire walls in all apartments, smoke detectors and a fully sprinkled building. We have a policy of rescue in place which the fire department has approved. Each apartment has a sign posted on the door to remind residents of how to respond in case of fire.

 

What if there is a tornado?

We have a safe area in case of tornados and other weather emergencies.

 

Is Living Community of St. Joseph handicap accessible?

Yes, we have grab bars and handrails throughout the facilities, walk-in showers and ramps in the appropriate areas. And while Living Community is not a high rise, we also have an elevator for easy access to second and third floor.

 

What if I am not feeling welL but do not need to be in assisted living, how do I get care?

Residents may use private home health agencies in their private apartment to ensure their needs are met.

 

I know you offer a hot breakfast buffet and fine dining services for dinner, what do you offer for lunches?

In order to meet the needs of our active residents flexible lunch needs, for an additional fee lunch can be ordered and delivered to your apartment.

 

Do you allow smoking?

No! We are dedicated to the wellness of our residents and there is no smoking allowed in our facility or anywhere on the grounds.

 

How much say do I have in community life?

We have a monthly residents' council meeting that helps us guide the direction of the community.

 

Can my family and friends come to visit?

Absolutely! Family and friends are always welcome to visit you in your apartment.

 

Can you help me get to my doctor appointments?

Scheduled transportation is provided. In addition, if your appointment is at a time when buses are  not running you can schedule your own reliable local transportation.
