The Madonna Living Community Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) organization from Madonna Towers of Rochester. The Foundation is an associated foundation of the Benedictine Foundation sponsored by the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, Minnesota. The Madonna Living Community Foundation was established on September 15, 1995 to ensure the continuation of high quality, compassionate care and services to residents at Madonna Towers of Rochester, a Catholic based Continuous Care Retirement Community.

The foundation assumes that all donors wish to be appropriately recognized for their gifts unless s/he specifies otherwise; i.e., an anonymous donation. Recognition includes, but is not limited to:

Gifts accepted by the foundation include cash, checks, appreciated stock, money orders, contents of saving accounts, bequests. The foundation can also be the beneficiary of a trust or an estate. Other gifts may include securities, real estate, tangible personal property, gifts-in-kind, royalties, copyrights and trademarks, and insurance policies. Gifts to the foundation can be classified as unrestricted or restricted. An unrestricted gift is one that has no donor stipulation regarding its purpose or use. In this case the gift will be used to its best advantage, as the Foundation Board deems appropriate. A restricted gift is one that is designated by the donor for a specific purpose. Restrictions can be temporary or permanent. |
