Learning & Growing in Love
We believe that the care and education children receive in the first five years of life is crucial to their social, emotional and academic development. Our goal is to strengthen, support and supplement the family life of children in our care. Teachers have been trained in early childhood education, which spans birth through the preschool years. Our year 'round program includes children from all walks of life with all kinds of needs. Sustaining a climate of diversity encourages toddlers and preschoolers to grow in love - with respect to the uniqueness of other children and the adults in their lives.
Benedictine Early Childhood Program: Housed in the historic St. Anthony Center, our program for infants and toddlers (6 weeks - 33 months) offers a warm, inviting atmosphere where children can explore their indoor and outdoor worlds safely and freely. A daily balance of child - and teacher - directed activities include block play, creative movement, fine and gross motor play, art, dramatic play, music, sensory play, and literature.
Benedictine Developmental Preschool (ages 33 months through five years): This program includes activities to enhance creativity, socializing and problem-solving skills. The curriculum includes: language arts, math readiness, science, dramatic play, cooking, art, music, creative movement, and field trips. Our affiliation with the Benedictine Health Center enables children to share in the lives of seniors who reside here. Intergenerational activities like sing-a-longs, plays and cookie baking are part of the curriculum that enriches everyone's life.
